Hi, would the college be able to help get my son/daughter a summer job when they come home for the summer. The major is early childhood education. If so, who would it be thru? counselor?

The college does offer a summer job fair through the Career Development office to assist students in locating summer jobs. Their website is: www.buffalostate.edu/offices/cdc. The summer job fair is Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Their phone number is (716) 878-5811.

They solicit employers from all over NYS to participate in the fair so hopefully some will come from these areas. The Career Development Office will post a listing of the various employers as we get closer to the event day.

I would also check out the Career Development Center's online job listings site, ORCA (Online Resource for Career Advancement): http://136.183.4.135/cdc/orca/mainstudentlogin.php. Many local employers post job listings through the college there and it is a good way to search for jobs, especially if you have a field in mind because you can specifically search for that.
