I'm just curious on if there's a ballpark time that financial aid refunds will be given to students... I have direct deposit. Anyone have an idea?

We are hoping to begin refunding Stafford monies next week if you are signed up with direct deposit. If not, it will be the following week when checks are mailed to the permanent addresses.

Is it too late to sign up for direct deposit?

It really depends on what financial aid you have and the timing of disbursements. It is possible that your loans have or will disburse before Student Accounts receives the completed direct deposit form from you. If you are expecting a refund after your loans disburse, then chances are it's "too late" to receive that refund electronically. However, if you expect to receive subsequent refunds this semester or in future semesters, it's not too late to sign up for direct deposit. The forms are available in Moot Hall and require a voided check be attached. You should return them to Student Accounts. For more specific information about your account, please call our office at 878-4902 or send us an email at finaid@buffalostate.edu with your name and Banner ID.

i had direct deposit for last shool year..do i need to sign back up

Direct deposit will remain active until you notify Student Accounts to inactivate the account on file or money is returned as undeliverable by your banking instituition; so, it' s very important to always update their office when the accounts are bein changed.

Refunds will be different for each student. We received a number of the Stafford loans on Friday which will get refunds out this week to students if they were getting a refund from their Stafford loan. Stop by either the Student Account or Financial Aid offices in Moot Hall to look at your account individually for a more accurate timeframe.
