Hello,
I have a question regarding the purchasing of books for classes. At my previous institution we had something called a Campus Spending Account, in which every semester we put how ever much money on it to afford things like books. Does Buffalo State have an equivalent to this? I was just curious if I had to be money out of pocket for my books, or if it's covered by my financial aid package?
Thanks,
Raymond
The college does have a book deferment process for the fall and spring semesters. You can apply approximately 2 to 3 weeks prior to the start of classes. To receive the deferment, you must have financial aid that will cover your bill for the semester as well as a book deferment. You decide on the amount you wish to have sent to the bookstore to use as your deferement until your financial aid is received and the bookstore is repaid. Any leftover monies from the fall can be used in the spring and you have until 7/15 to spend all unused funds. We encourage all students to apply for the deferment early as there is a 2-3 day processing time with the bookstore. Also, the last day to request the deferment is the last day of schedule adjustment for each semester. The deferments can be obtained from either the student account office or the financial aid office. Have a nice summer!
