orientation & registration Options

I will be an international freshman this fall semester and I will participate in orientation.

When I log to banner and click First Year Orientation Registration, it shows :You are not a member of any of this Survey's populations. Request cancelled. I do not know why.

Should I click Add or Drop Classes? It shows: I may register from Aug 24, 2012 to Nov 05, 2012.
What I want is to select course and I cannot figure out what "register" means here.
