So here I am, with one year of school left. The only problem I have is how to pay for it.
Here is a little background: I completed half of my schooling at Community College, and just finished my first year in Media Production at BSC. Up until the end of my first semester at BSC a family member was paying for college. After my first semester here she decided that she could not pay for the rest of my schooling, and because of the short notice I just used my total subsidized loans for the last year to pay for the spring semester of college. Now the problem I have is that I do not really get a lot of financial aid, and with the subsidized loans only about half of my bill for each semester is covered. I am really not in shape to pay back loans until at least after I graduate. My parents are also not really able to pay for my schooling either, even though my mother makes decent money the cost of living is just too much to pay for school. My brother is in community college now too, compounding the problem even more. Although I have a GPA of 3.93 (likely staying about the same once the spring semester's grades are released) I really do not know how to take advantage of them to try to get grants, scholarships, and the like. Any advice? I really would love to find appropriete scholarships/grants to take advantage of my good grades but I am having trouble finding them. If I need to take more loans out then I really need to find a way (hopefully low interest) to not have to pay them until I graduate and am working. Thanks for your time guys. |
