I am a freshman and had an incredibly bad first semester. I believe I will need to get at least a 3.8 gpa for the spring to still qualify for financial aid next year. If I take summer classes at a community college in my hometown are those credits calculated into my gpa for either Buffalo State or for financial aid purposes?

Unless you apply and get accepted to that school you will not be able to receive aid for those summer classes. Additionally, GPA's do not transfer only the credit hours will transfer.
