My daughter has been accepted to Buffalo State for fall 2011. I would like to know if anyone out there has any idea how safe the campus is at night. SHe will probably have a job and be working late on some nights not getting back to the dorm until maybe midnight. How safe is it to be walking back to her dorm that late. I'm more than a little concerned. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There have been some incidents over the years, but Buff State continues to take measures to mitigate the safety problems on a city campus.

Here is a link to the campus safety site:
http://buffalostate.edu/campussafety.xml

You can find information on where the various blue light phones on campus are located, what safety measures exist, crime statistics, and the escort van service.

Hopefully your daughter will have a good roommate who will either be able to walk with her (always stick together in pairs!) or at least be someone she can call when she leaves work so that someone will know if something is amiss.

I hope this helps!
