I am a transfer student. This semester was my first here at Buffalo State.

If your son or daughter is considering attending Buffalo State please consider all of your other options!! I cannot stress this enough.

The running joke that the professors in my department always say "It is easy to get into Buffalo State College, but the trick is, getting out of Buffalo State." This school is a joke. I've been to other SUNY schools, and this has been by far the worst. The teachers are incredibly unprofessional, the campus is filthy, the advisors are discouraging, and the residential housing system is a mess.

I ignored messages like these before I applied and now I wish I didn't! They do a great job of sweeping all the dirt under the rug for orientation. I feel like a fool. I feel like I've been suckered into this place. Don't Let it happen to you!

Please, please, please, Consider ALL other options before you consider Buffalo State College. Do not be fooled by their crap! I cannot stress this enough!

I agree that you should always consider all of your options and pick the best one for YOU. For some people, Buffalo State is the right choice - the college experience is different for everyone, but when it comes down to it, college is what YOU make of it!

I hate to disagree, but besides parking, I've had nothing but good experiences at Buff State, especially in the Public Communications department...

Well you seem to be a rather angry person who is unwilling to acknowledge anything good in a situation but here goes my attempt to show you some light...

I am now in my 5th year at buffalo state (I completed my bachelor's and am now attending graduate school here) and I lived on campus my first 3 yrs but have by no means been inattentive to campus since living off campus.

My first and second years of living on campus I could not have had any better people living around me on my floor in the res halls. My third year everybody on my floor was friends aside from one person who happened to be a bit of a jerk and whom i was unfortunately roomed with for a semester before changing to another room on the floor.

As far as broken booze bottles being around i admit i have seen the occasional occurrence, but take a walk down elmwood and you will see far worse. This is LIFE- life isn't a perfect place and it isn't always going to be precisely what you expect of it but as previously mentioned these things can only ruin your experience if you let them- if you just say "hey that is pretty filthy of someone to do that" and move on you might find yourself enjoying the experience quite a bit more than if you start blaming the entire campus because you find a few things unpleasant.
