I have recently submitted my application online. I am a Transfer Applicant, and I would like to know if I should send in a personal statement to support my application? In addition, will I need to send in a resume to document the breaks in my education, and will this help strengthen my application? I have already requested that my college transcript be forwarded to Buff State. If there are any transfer applicants out there that can help walk me through the application process, I'd greatly appreciate it. How long does it generally take to receive an admissions decision?

When I transferred it took about 2 weeks for me to get an answer after all my transcripts had been received, etc. I sent a personal statement (because I had gaps in my education), even though I am pretty sure it wasn't required and I didn't have a problem getting in.

Thank you Snoboardgrl79 for all of your insight. I think I will go ahead and submit my resume and a personal statement. It can't hurt. I am just worried that if I have to submit my H.S. transcript, my chances of acceptance will drastically decrease.

Well, when I applied to Buffalo State, they kept asking me for stuff. Like transcripts, 1040 tax form, proof of citizenship etc. But all the other schools that accepted me or rejected me said so right away. So I never knew if they were going to take me here or not until last minute. So dont get your hopes up, I think that if they didnt want you, you wouldve known by now.

Hello ICtheWrath-the application process usually takes three to four weeks. You should submit a personal essay explaining the breaks in your education and anything else you would like to submit will be reviewed. You could always call the admissions office and ask "what is the status of my application?"
Hope this helps- Sincerely your Buffalo State Admissions Counselor

If you have taken a certain amount of college courses they won't make you send your h.s. transcripts, I think it was like 25-30 credits? But I wouldn't worry, I had to send my h.s. stuff-which wasn't good!-and I got in
