Thanks for your reply, but don't you have to do some crazy things to join maybe even a little degrading. What does your friend think of the greek life and can he or she give some incite. Email me if you want to become friends Laket106@aol.com biggrin.gif

Not all fraternities or sororities have those initiation procedures anymore. If they get caught doing anything like that, they can be severely punished. It's taken very seriously on campus, so if you decide to join and encounter any hazing whatsoever, please make sure you contact University Police or talk to the Student Life office.

hey,
I am a member of AOZ, the co-ed frat on campus. And yes, many DO make you do degrading things and actually do haze, even though it is against school policy. I know that my first time pledging i was hazed horribly, and left the prganization. When i plaedged AOZ however their policy was, and remains, that if you are ever uncomfortable doing something, say so and you won't have to do it. I am not sure about other frats, but soroties tend to be harsh.
Hope this helps
Kate

I pledged to a sorority on my old campus, and its not meant to be degrading or punishing. It was an experience that was worth its while and I have no regrets about it. Hazing is definitely not as common as TV or movies would have you think. Our society has changed, as has its pledging process. It's worth the thought of whether you want to or not.

Sometimes being foolish is the right thing to do.
