[size=1]I have recently moved to Buffalo from out of state, and I am interested in obtaining a NY State teaching certificate in secondary education. I earned a B.A. in Spanish and Mathematics from a private college in Virginia in 1999. In addtion to my majors, I have several education classes. I am interested in becoming certified in Spanish primarily, but also in mathematics. I would like to know if credits from an out of state school will transfer to Buffalo State. I would also like to know if the best course of action is to pursue a graduate degree (masters in education) or a postbaccalaureate certificate. Thank you.

Yes-your out-of-state credit will transfer, but, I would look into a graduate program since you have a bachelors in the subject area you want to teach in.

Thank you for your response. I am interested in a masters degree program as well, and I have a few questions about it. How much longer will it take to complete the masters program than the certificate? What is the difference in cost and financial aid available?
