Yankees game? well the satellite provider is blacking out the game on purpose, you know they want you to get their YES network channel. its all a business at the end of the day.

Blackouts are what any cable company does usually when another channel is broadcasting a game. This is so there is only one channel broadcasting a particular game at a given time. So if its anyone to complain to, complain to Directv.

Maybe due to the price increase in dorms, they should really switch from satellite to digital cable.

I have yet to see a good pizza place in this region of New York. In the city, there's a lot of sauce and less cheese but in the Buffalo area, the pizza has a lot of cheese but less sauce. Come on, need to combine the two and it would be the best pizza. Still nothing beats NYC with pizza.

Too many students do not know how to maintain their own computers resulting in spyware which makes them use up more bandwidth than usual.

If you're talking about that wireless network from Porter / North Wing, that is not an access point. Its one of those ad-hoc computer to computer networks. I was able to find that wireless network. I bet its coming from Twin Rise.

The closest wireless network accessible on campus is in the union and you won't be able to reach it from Porter and North Wing and if you could by some chance it would be very weak.

Just make sure you're not trying to connect to an ad-hoc network unless you know what it is.

Windows XP Pro can be purchased cheap through the Microsoft Academic Alliance program. You buy it directly from Microsoft so its a legitimate copy. Its around $15. This is not a private university so it wouldn't be free.

It is here:
http://msdn02.e-academy.com/buffalostate_cis/

Most likely only open to CIS majors. You should ask the CIS dept (in Chase room 202) if its otherwise.

where did this information get posted? may 4th? You are a civil servant of the college, if you got to stay for work then they should let you stay at least until the 7th.

Well for a fact, my AA said that the dorms are open until may 7th 12pm (one day after commencement). I am a graduating senior.

yeah roommates suck unless you actually know the person. i'd say 8/10 chances you get someone totally incompatible if its random. Its not just the roommate but there is no chance of actually figuring out what type of friends they have. Chances are even more slim that their friends would even show respect.

Room with friend of yours and you shouldn't have any problems and plus you'd know their habits, likes, and dislikes and you could very easily work around it.

Wasn't it Tower 3 that was the only one open -- it was posted in another thread.

Ah!!! Online gaming was awesome over the break. Around 80 ping on battle.net versus the 340 ping when the dorms are open.

As soon as people started coming back, framerates dropped back to how they were before the break. But there's 24 more class days left for the semester so I'll just wait it out until I'm home. cool.gif

Take it from me. I know the secrets and tricks. I am the "secret shopper".

If you want quality and by far lower prices, go to subway (on elmwood/forest) for your subs. Just to let you know the egg/tuna/chicken salads if not bought are used the entire day so that means if you order them at the end of the day, you're eating stale subs. The meatballs hardly have any sauce by then so you end up getting overcooked, dry, crusty meatballs and if you get a wrap, they are so dry by then. I don't know what they were thinking but when they started using the plastic bins to hold the bread, they dried out quicker and was just plain disgusting.

Maybe BSC should tell the dining services to serve more quality or get another company to service the school.

No matter what you do, just go to the competitor (underground cafe) or eat off campus just a couple of weeks and let them see drops in sales up in the union. Flood them with bad reviews and force them to keep a FRESH supply of food by replacing them every hour or so or at least lower their prices. I have watched the workers and they are diligent so don't blame them, blame management with their rules forcing the workers to serve you stale food.

Actually the microwave is college-owned and part of the kitchen.

they can use that $250,000 grant (source: The Record 2/23/06) to build a 5th tower rather tham rebuild the Student Union which really doesn't need it right now.

That could somehow help the housing overcrowding and avoid triples.

those are 24 students that could be housed rather than just 12 on that floor.

the efficiency apartments are basically those ones on the first floor. They aren't that small but are smaller than the rest of the apartments. They are bigger than a double in the towers or in porter.

the ones in moore are 4 person apartments:

the -06 rooms are typically 1 double, 2 single (3 bedrooms)
the -16 rooms are typically 2 doubles (2 bedrooms)

...

are those ones in T3 that are 3 person suites the ones on their 8th floor, the ones that were totally rebuilt? They really should be replaced as regular 6 person suites and have no special privilege over the other floors.

lol at csihelp... if you moved into the one empty room, that would make it co-ed since this is a male suite. but it should be allowed as long as the room itself isnt co-ed. the apartments should be co-ed except for efficiency one (1st floor).

The web site said that only North Wing and T1 have that fee. Moore does not have the break fee because its probably because it costs more. you just have to tell them your fob number to keep it on.

I doubt it would be allowed for co-ed even though its a separate empty room.

I doubt you'd be able to since I tried to get someone I know to switch into it but you could ask them about the opening.
