When you come for orientation, you will meet with your advisor and they will make your schedule for you. You do not get to make your own schedule for your first semester.

you need a total of 120 credits to graduate, if you have satisfied all your requirements for your program but have less than 120 credits, you can take any class to make up the credits. This happened to me, I completed all my requirements with 99 credits, so i took 7 classes (21 credits) in fun classes so I could finish my degree

as long as you received a C- or lower you can retake the course. Remember that courses you retake do not count towards the 12 credits needed for full time status.

There is no fee for applying for graduation. Unfortunately the school only does a ceremony once a year, in may, so if you wanted to walk during the ceremony, you would have to come back in may. Cap and gowns are usually sold starting in mid April, if you are not in buffalo at the time, i believe you can mail in an order form for your cap and gown. Diploma's are received after you degree has been conferred. When I graduated in December I did not receive my degree until early February. Just count on it taking about 6-8 weeks.

you have to go add the $200 back on. Only meal plans get renewed, you have to add on bengal bucks personally each semester

sarahdesa, we do have a designated area away from building that people can smoke (15 feet from the building). The problem is that people don't follow the rule, especially during bad weather. Back when I use to live on campus, I lived on the second floor of tower 3, right over the entrance. My common room and bed room always smelled like cigarette because people would smoke right next to the building. What I think they should do is have smoking areas like they do at amusement parks, so that people who smoke don't have to leave campus, but they can make sure the smoking is out of the way of walking traffic and buildings.

The reason you are getting the 1xx, 3xx, etc is because buffalo state does not know what the equivalent class would be here. If you have course syllabi or course descriptions from your old school catalog, you can go to the specific department (i.e. history department for your his 1xx class) and try to get it fixed. You must look in our school catalog and find the equivalent class and tell each department what it is. If our school doesnt offer an equivalent, then it will just count as a general elective

it takes anywhere from 1-3 business days, depending on your bank. Hopefully you should have the money no later than tuesday if it was processed today.

yes. It usually takes 2-3 business days for the fund to hit your checking account after you see it in banner, depending on your bank. So if it showed up in your banner today, you should hopefully have it in your account no later than tuesday-wednesday.

no, once you sign up for direct deposit, it stays in effect until you tell student accounts to cancel it.

@bug0rwndsh3ld. If you go into banner, click financial aid, then current aid status, pick 2011/2012 year, then click account summary by term you will see your bill for this semester. If you see a line on the bill that say (Un)sub loan refund, then your refund has been processed and if you signed up for direct deposit you will receive your money in a few days, if you dont have direct deposit a check will me mailed to your home address in about 10 days. If you do not see the refund on your bill, it has not be processed by the school yet.

its done the same day, so as long as you get it in before they process your refund, you will get the money in your account

If you are expecting a refund from financial aid, you can always apply for a book deferment to get your books. This puts part of your refund in the book store as a "credit line" and you can buy all the books and supplies you need. Its too late to get one for this semester, but that is something you should look into for next semester.

The delay is causing issues for those who still need to get books and things for classes. Is there any way to expedite this?

buff state's internet does not allow you to connect to xbox live or psn and is supposedly slows the network down. I know there are students who have found ways around it, but I wasnt one of them so im not sure how to do it

yes, you will get a refund every semester that you have extra aid, so as long as you keep the meal plan off you will get money in the fall (mid to end of september) and spring (mid to end february)

yes you will receive a refund for whatever extra aid you have. Just make sure that as soon as you get back to campus you go to the library to change your meal plan

if you take your aid for the semester and subtract all charges for that semester (tuition, room and board, etc) and you have money left over you will receive that as a refund. You can fill out a direct deposit form in moot hall at the student accounts office and when refunds go through (it starts around the 3 week of classes and can go into october) it will go into your checking accout, otherwise when the school issues you a refund they will send a check to the address they have on your record.

you must have a meal plan if you are a freshman or sophomore (if you have 57 credits or less). If you are a junior or senior you can drop your meal plan and put dining dollars on your account. You can do this in the library.

One of my years dorming, I did not give in the housing deposit, because of financial issues. I was worried that I would lose my hosing spot and have no where to live. I called in August to make sure I had a room, and I did. I never paid the deposit and the full dorm price was put on my bill and paid for with financial aid. This happened last august and I had no problem, so I think you should be fine.

the library has printing which cost 2cent per page and 5 cent per page for copies. Color printing is 50cents per page. Each department has a computer lab that is available to students in that major to use, and you can also do printing there.

they have single apartments, apartments with 2 single rooms and 1 double room , and apartments with 3 single rooms. So either you are in one of these three situations (which isnt very likely because returning students get first dibs and there are not that many single room so they get taken up quickly), or resident life is have issues (which they always do) and they just havent given you your rommies info yet
