If you guys want some real shopping fun go to Toronto. It's like 45 minutes-hour away. It's like a really clean NYC. I'm not crazy about the galleria, but that's just me..I also worked there so it makes me hate it more. Theres an outlet mall in Niagara Falls where they SOMETIMES have nice clothes at really inexpensive prices. The Galleria doesn't have too much of a selection of stores, but I'm also a picky shopper.

My friends and I are planning a weekend trip to Canada. His parents go up there each weekend. My friend told me that all I'd need was my drivers liscense (well, permit since I don't have a liscense) and my original birth certificate and possibly my Social Security Card.

Have you ever crossed the boarder before? If not, it goes something like this (well, as far as I know... Last time I went to Canada was sometime last year). When you pull up, they'll ask you why you're going to Canada and where you're going. Then they'll ask you your citizenship. Then they'll ask for i.d. And then they'll let ya go. Coming back, you're not allowed to bring a lot of stuff with you without paying a tax on it... So watch what you bring back.

Nope. Never been over any border before. Maybe for Spring break next yr.. I have heard Canada was a cool country. I have ID (at least my permit cause I don't have my liscense yet either, lol.) I didn't think I would need my Birth Certificate but since I will I guess I'll have to bring that thing with me and hide it. Anywhoo, Thnks for the information.

I've crossed the border hundreds of times, and I have never needed anything more than a driver's license. If you're not a US citizen, then you may need your passport. I know they say you need it here:

http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/region...ional_1170.html

but I've never been asked for this when entering Canada. They usually ask for your license when you come back to the US anyway.

Oh, last tip: don't joke around with your answers. Unless you like being pulled over and having your car searched, that is.

I think all of the shopaholics here are gonna learn that they will need to curb their spending habits if they want to afford college. If anyone here has enough money that they don't need to I'd be willing to let you give me some so you don't feel as though you have too much- LOL. And about the mall- the only thing that matters is there is an Apple Store- excellent computers I just got a macbook about two weeks ago- it is far better than a PC

I hate the whole debate between PCs and Macs. It's like Ford vs. Chevy. Who cares! Macs are good for video/photo editing and don't get viruses. PCs are good for the average user, and as long as they know what they're doing they're not going to get viruses.

I've used both and like using both.

Anyways. Sorry to get off topic, but I just had to say that.

Boyz can go shoppin too.. and i wanna go wit ur grls.. im shoppin every weekend up here in NYC gettin ready for tha Buffalo weather.. thank god i turned 18 in may so now i can shop freely in tha MAll

Okay unconventional older student here smile.gif Not sure exactly why you would get harrassed shopping in a mall being under age *unless your were being a little naughty*, as I have teenage children, and my daughter goes to the mall with her friends all the time. Never once been harrassed. Anywhoo, there is the Galleria Mall in Cheektawaga( my kids like the Steve N Barry's store, all sports clothes ect.. are under $10), Niagara Falls Outlet (you'll love this mall) in Niagara Falls, The Mickenly Mall in Orchard Park ( I like this one too) Boulavard Mall in Amherst on Niagara Falls Blvd., and the Summit Park Mall in Niagara Falls.
As far as the under age drinking bit in Canada, be VERY careful and please drink responsibly and don't drink and drive. The legal age is 19 BUT once you cross back over to the US, being intoxicated under age is illegal. Yes, I sound like a mom, and I am one and I worry about you all ~ so have fun but be safe. Also, drink in moderation~alcohol poisoning is no joke okay. And watch your drinks, too many fatal drugs are being placed into them. Sorry to preach, but this is coming from experience. I went downtown to celebrate a birthday with friends, I was drinking pop and the next thing I knew I was waking up with tubes down my throat and stomache pumped and the doctors said that good thing my ex hubby got me to the hospital or I would have died. AND I was just drinking pop. So be safe okay

The galleria is a great place to shop. It has almost every store you could pretty much need. No hollister though if you like that store.lol just a&f.

Anyway the mall rule is silly, but great since you never need to worry about seeing high school kids roaming the mall aimlessly trying to find something to do. I look young and i was never approached. I think as long as you're behaving and not acting like you're 10, then you'll be fine. You're there to shop, not to sit around on the floor (i've seen it) of the mall acting ridiculous.

That, or you don't make eye contact with the security guards. (Official mall rat)

If your purpose is to go to the mall and act a fool then yeah the little mall cops are going to bother you...If you be cool then they don't bother you. Actually, you really don't notice the cops ever...at least I haven't and I've been at this school for four years now.
