does anyone actually know when do we find out who our rommate is??

You will be told probably at the end of july/ begining of august. There is a part of the buff state website where u can go to look it up. The website site is usually down and you wont be able to get any info. You can all res life and they can tell you what room you got if you call in like august but if you ask about your room mate you'll probably hear there is something wrong with the system and they cant pull up the information. So if you actally find out who your room mate is before you move in, consider yourself lucky

I am going to be a senior in the fall and this website worked fine for me when I was dorming as a freshman. I checked every day and was able to find out who my roommates were going to be, found them on facebook, and met up with them at orientation! So I hope it works for you too

Also, according to the FAQ page, "You will receive a letter from the Residence Life Office prior to the beginning of the semester informing you of your roommate's name, address, and phone number." See: http://www.buffalostate.edu/residencelife/x487.xml#roomate

Most of the rooms in Porter are doubles but you might have two roommates because sometimes they have to make the doubles into triples. So you will have either one or two roommates!
