QUOTE (mathgeni @ Jul 14 2010, 05:53 PM) *
I'm a senior for the next few weeks then i'll have officially graduated and get to spend another 2 yrs of my life at Buff State for graduate school. (hoping i'll be able to sneak up to the honors lounge to hang out with some of the awesome people up there still though)

When I was still in undergraduate they made that 'passport to Canada' rule. If you get an enhanced drivers license that will work also

Yeah, for pizza go to Joes. For Wings, go up the block to Bennys; It's ridiculously cheap.

The school has a good dance program...I had a friend that was a dance student and she never complained about it.

Because I play driver to my friend without the license she and I end up at this nail salon on Grant Street. It's right across from family dollar. For hair, you go to....I don't know because I won't go. There's a tanning shop by marshalls...it's on the Denny's block. When you are on Elmwood, keep going straight until you pass Amherst and that next light you make that right turn and go straight to the end of the road

If your purpose is to go to the mall and act a fool then yeah the little mall cops are going to bother you...If you be cool then they don't bother you. Actually, you really don't notice the cops ever...at least I haven't and I've been at this school for four years now.

It seems like everytime someone requests neumann they get put in perry and vise versa. The school did this to a number of people awhile ago.

If you haven't already talk to the people in the Financial Aid office. They can help you out with your question.

...if you get real lucky they do put freshmen in the towers when they run out of space and they don't have anywhere else to put them.

I personally wouldn't want to go through the hassle of parking far away from campus just so I could beat the system because I can't have a car freshman year. Just wait it out, as a freshman you will probably end up on campus most of the time anyway and if you really needed to go somewhere jump on the 20 and it will take you wherever you need to go...along Elmwood.

I lived in Tower 3 last year on the 6th floor last year. The suite areas are huge but when you step in your rooms it feels like you've walked into a box. My first day I was like "I wanna go back to Perry." There were constant fire alarms during all times of the day and night and on my floor it always smelled like pot because of one person. In the virtural tour the the school has. The photo for the suit area of the towers comes from North Wing and I don't know where the other one comes from.

It all depends on your floor mates for the year. One year a floor can be dead and the next it's the party of the building.

I remember Porter....fire drills every other day and loud noises and parties on various floors. The elevators are extremely fast though. They need to put some of those in the Towers.

The downstairs come with couch and a table. In the kitchen you get a fridge and I think a dining room table. I don't know about microwave though. I did see one in a person's apt. before.

Housing at this college is done on a first come first serve basis. That means the sooner your application and room deposits are in the better chances you will have in getting a room on campus and probably in the building of your choice.

You know, its not that bad once you get used to it. The only bad thing about winters (which start late in October up here..not November) is all the rain and snow we get. It's like it never ends. I'm from NYC and when I tell people from back home that it never stops raining and snowing they start laughing at me. As for the wind, just take your scarf and hide everything but your eyes and you'll be good.

I don't understand why people are so upset about living in the hotels. So you have to wait for a bus but you get bigger rooms, you don't have to share a shower the size of 2 computer speakers put together only a whooole lot taller and you get people to clean your rooms for you. That sounds like the good life in my opinion.

There are no buses that will take you from Buff State to UB. What you have to do is jump on the 32 bus which is right next to Rockwell hall and take that to Amherst street station. Then you get off and take the train (or what Buffalo calls a train) to the last stop. If I remember correctly that last stop will leave you right on UB South's campus.

You really can't miss the stop because usually a lot of people wait at this stop.

I came here cause it's a small campus and it's in New York State so I don't have to pay that out of state fees. A bonus is its far enough from home so my parents can't just pop in on me

You go to the library and ask for a new bus pass. I think you turn in the old one and then they give you your new one.
