HI I HAVE BEEN AT BUFFALO STATE FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS AND I HAVE ALWAYS RECIEVED MY STAFFORD LOAN DISBURSEMENT BY THE THIRD WEEK OF CLASSES VIA DIRECT DEPOSIT. HOWEVER I HAVE NOT RECIEVED IT YET THIS TERM AND WHEN I GO TO THE HESC WEBSITE THERE IS NO INFO FOR THIS TERM AND MY TAP IS STILL SHOWING AS ESTIMATED ON THERE. IS THAT A PERSONAL ISSUE WITH MY ACCOUNT? OR IS THE LOAN JUST BACKED UP?

As of March 2010 the federal government required all colleges in the U.S. to go to the Direct Stafford loan program. What this meant to all students taking loans whether they had prior loans or not with a bank, they needed to complete a new master promissory note on the direct loan web site www.studentloans.gov. I cannot answer to why you do not yet have your loan and suggest you go into your banner account and look under awards and requirements. You can also send us an email with your banner ID so we can help you further. |

THANK YOU SO MUCH I JUST WENT ONTO THE WEBSITE AND COMPLETED THE NEW PROMISSORY NOTE. HOW MANY DAYS SHOULD I GIVE IT TO GO THROUGH BEFORE CHECKING ON IT AT THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE? Well it takes a few days for us to get the file that the master promissory note is completed. The process can take up to two weeks so I would suggest students contact our office to make certain everything else is in order to prevent further delays. |
