I’d like to call your attention to several opportunities you might want to take advantage of. All are run out of Buffalo State’s Office of Undergraduate Research and you can learn more about all of the programs offered through this office by going to:

Have you seen posters with ‘sun logos’ around campus? These posters are announcing the annual Student Research and Creativity Celebration (SRCC) and this year marks the 14^th time this event has been held. The SRCC is a college-wide activity that provides a very friendly place for students to present the results of research projects, scholarly activities, and creative works. You can present a ‘work in progress’ or something you completed in the past year. Presentation formats include: posters, talks, demonstrations, display of artwork, and performance pieces. Your presentation can be done as an individual or as a small group of students. If you are interested in applying to present at this year’s SRCC, you’ll need the support of a faculty mentor and you’ll need to complete your online application by midnight, March 14th. You can access the online application by using the ‘sun logo’ quick link in the upper right corner found on the homepage using the url above or find a poster with the sun logo and scan the QR code.



Another program you might want to consider applying to is the Undergraduate Summer Research Program. This program provides a summer stipend so you can devote 8 weeks of full-time study exploring a research, scholarly, or creative activity. You will need to have a faculty mentor, so if you are interested in applying to this program, first learn more about it (use the url above and the quick link from the homepage or find a poster promoting the summer research program and scan the QR code) and then go talk to a faculty member. You can identify a research/scholarly/creative project of you own and see if a faculty member is willing to be your mentor, or, you might be able to work on a faculty member’s ongoing project. The deadline for applying to this program is midnight, March 27th. We plan to award 24 research fellowships for the upcoming summer. Apply and you could be one of the recipients!



Please keep in mind that all programs run by our office require you to have a faculty mentor and are filled out electronically….so don’t wait until the last minute to check out these opportunities or you’ll miss the deadline!



Remember, undergraduate research is a great educational opportunity for all students, not just for students with high grade point averages! Everybody benefits from conducting undergraduate research and this is a great way for you to showcase your creativity and ingenuity!
