All full time students taking 12 credit hours or more are required to have health insurance. Students who have their own health insurance can opt out of the insurance provided through the college through the following link:
https://consolidatedhealthplan.com/group/82/waiver/1
Students who do not have their own insurance will be automatically enrolled into the school's insurance plan and charges will be applied to their student account. The premium for 2013-2014 is $1,779 (includes $30 administrative fee)
The insurance plan covers from August 13, 2013 and ends August 12. 2014, though we are waiting for final approval from Albany. Students who opt out of the college's insurance can still be seen at the health center.
Student who loose their private insurance are NOT automatically enrolled into the school plan, but must request enrollment at the health center. Full time students who are determined not to have health insurance will be enrolled into the schools plan and charges will be applied to their student account if no other options are available to them. Health center staff will assist students in learning more about insurance options.

QUOTE (jussyfranklin @ Jun 19 2013, 11:09 PM) *
Each and every people wants to keep their body fit as well as healthy which can be possible in many ways. There are many insurance companies which provides different types of health insurance policies.

It is true that there are many health insurance policies. At the health center, we work hard to keep updated on options for students. We are not here to sell insurance, but to assist students in making sure that they have health insurance. With the changes related to health care reform, everyone is required to have health insurance. As information on the exchanges become available, we will keep updated to inform students of the various options.
