I hope you get some good replies here but in the meantime, you can do a search for "sorority" on the ASK forum. Here is a good post from that for contact info for a specific sorority:

Another update on the parking situation:

In September 2011, the college announced a new report done regarding parking at Buffalo State and are looking for recommendations/feedback from US.

You can review the full report here:

There is also an article in The Record that is a good summary of this report that you can see here:
http://www.facebook.com/notes/the-buffalo-...150366843479728

If parking on campus is something that concerns you, you can email your feedback on this report and ideas about parking to to vpfm@buffalostate.edu by Friday, October 28, 2011!

It looks like they are just going to go towards fulfilling your general electives requirements to meet the minimum credit hours after you have finished your intellectual foundations and major/minor requirements. This is something your advisor may be able to work on with you so I would suggest meeting with them as soon as you can to figure things out!

I wish I could donate for UNYTS but they won't take my blood because I don't weigh enough according to their scale (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I have never had any problems with Red Cross though and they always have snacks too.

Breaking news in Sept 21, 2011 issue of The Record!

President Podolefsky has passed the smoking ban on campus. The plan is to make Buff State a smoke-free campus by January through a gradual cultural shift. The President for Student Affairs, Hal Payne, will be overseeing the enforcement policy.

By the way, The Record has gone digital, so you can find the story here:

Tuesday, September 27, 2011 - Saturday, October 1
Buffalo State's homecoming gets better and better every year, and this year features a new Friday night program full of fireworks, a mechanical bull, a Build-Your-Own Bengal Booth, and a photo booth. And that's just one way to enjoy the homecoming weekend - you won't want to miss the pep rally on Thursday or the big game on Saturday either, complete with a parade and tailgate party!

See the complete schedule of events HERE.

It is pretty easy, just one transfer!

  1. Catch the Route 32 bus towards Thruway Mall at the shelter outside Rockwell Hall facing the Burchfield Penney (NOT the shelter on Elmwood)
    - You can find the schedule here: http://metro.nfta.com/Routes/ttpdf/2011-06-26/32.pdf
  2. Get off at the Amherst St. station to get on the train
  3. Take the train towards University

That will leave you off at UB south! I used to use it all the time and it takes about half an hour-45 minutes.

Here is a thread discussing the same issue:

I'm not sure but I think club sports have to be recognized by USG... or maybe that's just if you want funding.

Either way, here is a link to the recognition process:
http://www.usgbuffstate.org/?nav=events&page_id=412

Rugby is a club sport here, so you might want to get into contact with the leaders of that organization and see how they went about doing it.

I'm guessing you need to go to the Talking Leaves bookstore? Public transportation is actually very easy once you get to the subway on Main St (the subway is only on Main St and you need to take a bus to transfer there).

To get to Talking Leaves:

  4. Get off at LaSalle station (about 2 stops)
  5. Then you will have to walk from the stop to Talking Leaves

I think that is right but I haven't done it in a few years! Best of luck, I hope that helped.

My favorite part of the new school year is the Weeks of Welcome...
Tons of free events on campus and throughout Buffalo put on by the Student Life Office.
For the first six weeks of school, it won't be hard to find free food and fun things to do!

Keep an eye out for FREE events like:
  • Parking Lot Parties - free hotdogs!
  • Fieldtrips - Lasertron, Miss Buffalo Boat Ride, Underground Railroad Tour, Niagara Falls, White Water Rafting, Buffalo Zoo
  • Sporting events - kickball game, homecoming, Bengal football games
  • Open mic night, karaoke night
  • Pool Parties!
  • Carnivals - Job Luau, Bengal Wellfest, Music is Art festival, Carnival of Clubs, Volunteer Fair
  • Poster Sales
  • Workshops
Check out all the programming on the Student Life website and mark your calendars for an unforgettable start to the semester (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
You can stay on top of these and other campus events using the Buffalo State website Events Calendar... make it your homepage and never miss out!

I use directtextbook.com, which compares prices from all different sites, including ebay/half.com, amazon, etc. I also always do a google search for coupons for whichever site I end up using before checking out... sometimes you can get free shipping or a small percentage off but every little bit helps!
