I found out what dorm I have and its Northwing, with an 8 person suite on the 6th floor. But, I'm a freshmen, so how did I get that and not the regular freshman dorms? And how is Northwing? And is it better than the freshman dorms?

are you in the honors program by chance or a learning community? Because that may be the reason your signed up for the building. North wings rooms are smaller than the other freshman dorms but you get a lounge i believe

If you are on a sports team that is another reason why you might be in North Wing. If you aren't, consider your self lucky and just go with it! I dormed in North Wing my first year (as an honors student) and I was so grateful for that. It is a much nicer dorm and although quieter, you will have 7 other suitemates to keep things interesting and that doesn't mean you won't make friends in other dorms and be able to experience that as well! The North Wing is also kind of fun because many international students are housed there so you will hear a lot of different accents and meet people from all over the world.

Basically the North Wing suites consist of 4 rooms with 2 roommates in each and they are attached to a common area kind of like a living room. There is also a bathroom with 2 sinks and a shower inside your dorm room and surprisingly it works out well even with 8 people. Plus the janitors clean it for you! And they take out your garbage and recycling smile.gif
