So I'm in Porter (6th floor), and I haven't gotten a lot of straight answers about anything dorm related... so here goes:
1) Do we have a closet with a door? 2) Can we bring a Keurig instead of a coffeemaker? 3) Do we need to buy bed raisers? 4) Can we bring storage containers that aren't plastic. They look like the ones that are stacked with drawers but they just aren't plastic and they have a swinging door instead of drawers. They are almost the exact same size too. 5) I bought fire retardant draperies but I already threw out the package with the label; will I get in trouble because I can't prove it? 6) Is there a kitchen on one of the floors? 7) How is the water-for drinking? Thanks in advance!!!! |

Thanks in advance!!!! 1. ) No door on the closet. If you get a non-flammable curtain you can use that to close it off but there is no door. 2. ) Your not allowed a coffee maker in freshman dorms, I don't think. But a Keurig is fine, I've seen a lot of people bring them anyway. 3.) You do NOT need bed raisers. The bed comes at a standard height but the RA can raise or lower it to your preference. There is plenty of space under the bed for storage too. 4.) If they can go under your bed, yes. Generally the college dislikes when students bring extra furniture, as it is a fire hazard crowding the room. 5.) That I'm not sure. They should be able to tell the difference but I'm not sure. The windows have blinds or curtains so draperies are not necessary unless you are using it to close off your closet. 6.) Some of the floors have kitchens 7.) The water is fine for drinking. We always had a Brita Filter in the fridge, but the tap water is fine. |
