Hello,
I applied for FAFSA and TAP a little late this semester. My FAFSA award looks normal, I am pretty sure I got nearly the maximum for Pell and both Stafford loans, but my TAP was exceedingly less than I was hoping for ... about three thousand dollars less. I just have a few questions about where I should go from here. Why have I never received a Perkins loan? I was told I was not required to fill out additional applications for the Perkins loan. Additionally, my friend who earns more than me from their job but is also an independent student (junior) received the same amount from Stafford and Pell along with a slightly smaller amount from TAP but were awarded a substantially large Perkins loan. Near the end of every single semester I begin to run out of money, but because I am taking on the maximum course load in a rigorous program I am not able to work. At this point I am curious as to my options, and would like to know how I could receive a Perkins loan or what other options I may have. Thank you for your time. |
